Chapter 15: End of the Pokemon Journey

The two future Pokemon Masters landed at the familiar Viridian City were there was the Pokemon Gym that was locked up. “Well Ashley, are you ready to take on the final gym leader so we can face the Elite Four to become Pokemon Masters?” asked Gary.

“I sure am sweetie, let’s do it!” shouted out Ashley with excitement. Then the two walked to the Gym and entered the doors.

There were tons of Pokemon trainers with a great variety of Pokemon. But since the two trained a lot with their beloved Pokemon, those trainers had no chance to beat them. The only part they both equally hated is the floor panels that spun them around. They almost felt they were going to throw up doing it. But eventually they reached the Gym Leader and were in for a surprise who it is.

“Giovanni!? You are the Gym leader here?” said Ashley surprised to see the boss of Team Rocket.

“That’s right Ashley, I’m the Gym Leader. It’s so good to see you two again, but I’m going to make sure neither of you guys wins to face the Elite Four!” said Giovanni”

“We’ll see about that Giovanni!” shouted out Gary.
Then Giovanni sent out his Rhyhorn and Dugtrio. Ashley sent out her Articuno and Gary sent out his powerful Poliwrath. Ashley used her Articuno and has it fire Ice Beam at Rhyhorn knocking it out in one hit. Gary used Surf on Dugtrio and it was out in one hit.

Out of Pokemon Giovanni sent out his Nidoqueen and Nidoking out into the field. But Ashley and Gary’s Pokemon were too fast and Powerful to be stopped and the two Pokemon were gone in no time. Giovanni is practically sweating and sent out his last Pokemon Rhydon. But he pretty much sealed his doom and Giovanni is defeated.

“Hmm…you two seem to have mastered your Pokemon well, I have no choice but to give both you guys’ the final badges needed to face the Elite four” said Giovanni and gave them the badges needed. After that he disappeared.

“Where did he go?” wondered Ashley surprised Giovanni is gone.

“My guess since we best him in Pokemon that he did the only cowardly thing to do is run. I think we finally defeated Team Rocket for good Ashley” said Gary.

“I’m glad we don’t have to see him again!” said Ashley with a sigh of relief.

“So, do you want to rest up before heading to face the Elite Four?” asked Gary.

“Nah, I want to face them right now and get this journey over with!” shouted out Ashley.

“Wow…I’m surprised you are almost like me wanting to continue this, but I’m all for finishing this journey!” said Gary. Then the two hand-in-hands walked out of the Gym and headed west from Viridian city for the Elite Four.

After a while they reached the gates and showed off their badges to each of the guards along the way. Then they reach the finally road they have to travel to reach the Elite Four, Victory Road. There were strong trainers they had to face, but with their training they pushed all the challengers. Also there were rock puzzles to get through. But eventually they reach the place were the Elite Four were waiting for any challengers for the right to be Pokemon Masters.

There is this Pokemon Center they used to heal the Pokemon to make sure they are ready for the final challenge. Also there is a Pokemon Shop and they bought the best supplies to make sure they can heal their Pokemon in-between battles. “So, do you want to battle them now or rest up Ashley?” asked Gary.

“Well as excited of me being near the end of the journey and wanting to beat the Elite Four, I want to take a little time to rest up” answered Ashley.

“So, what do you want to do?” wondered Gary.

“I am thinking maybe we can get a bite to eat at one of the Cafes here” suggested Ashley.

Then they looked at the different places to eat. There was a fancy place to eat, they have the money but were not in the mood to dress up for it. So they went to a place that was designed as a 50’s Burger Shop and decided to try it out.
When they got in the place 50’s rock music was playing in the speakers all over the place. They got themselves a booth to sit in. Then a waitress came to them and took all of their orders. After chatting a while of their journey their order came. There was a huge glass of vanilla milkshake with two straws in it. Both thought it was nice and romantic to share a drink together. Even Pikachu herself was enjoying everything in the place.

There is also this floor big enough to dance in an a few couples were on it. After finishing their meals Ashley suggested they dance to a few tunes. Gary was nervous of doing it since he still needs to learn to dance, but wanted to do it for his girlfriend. Luckily there was a slow dance; Gary was amazed of his luck. Then after they finished dancing Gary paid the bills and the two walked out of the place.
The two walked to the entrance were they have to face each of the members of the Elite Four one by one with no point of return once they stepped into there. “Well, do you feel ready Gary?” asked Ashley.
“I always do Ashley, you know that better then anyone” grinned Gary. Then the two gave each other a quick good luck kiss on their lips and walked into the arena.

First up was Ice master Lorelei. Ashley brought out her faithful friend Pikachu into the arena and Gary brought out yet again his Powerful Poliwrath into the arena. Good thing Ashley brought out her Pikachu because Lorelei brought out a Dewgong and Cloyster. Ashley used Thunder Bolt on Cloyster and it was knocked out in one hit. Then Gary used submission with Poliwrath on Dewgong and it became a Critical hit and knocked out Dewgong.

Lorelei then brought out Slowbro and Jynx. By a surprise Pikachu learn a powerful fighting moved and quickly used it on Jynx and it was out for the count. Gary thanked Ashley for that since his Poliwrath would have been hit with a powerful Psychic attack by Jynx. Then this round was finished off with another submission from Poliwrath and knocked out Slowbro.

The final Pokemon Lorelei brought out is her Lapras. Ashley noticed Poliwrath’s HP was getting low by the Submission attacks, so she used Hyper Potion on Poliwrath. Then the last attack was submission and it almost beaten Lapras. The Lorelei used Confuse Ray on Poliwrath to keep it from using powerful attacks on her Lapras. Then the next round Lorelei used full restore on Lapras. Both trainers were annoyed by this. But with Pikachu’s last Thunderbolt was a critical hit and knocked out Lapras winning the first battle.

“Congrats with both of your wins, now you two can move on to the next member” said Lorelei and the door open Ashley and Gary moved on.

The next member is a Rock and Fighting expert named Bruno. He looked like a very tough guy. He tried to impress Ashley a little, but she was not amused since she already has a boyfriend. Then Bruno let out his Onix and Hitmonchan into the battle field. Ashley brought out her Alakazam and Gary brought out his Poliwrath.
Ashley used Psychic with her Alakazam and knocked out Hitmonchan with one hit. Then Gary used surf on Onix and it was down in no time, but the Alakazam took a lot of damage since it has a lousy defense.

After Bruno’s first Pokemon were both down he brought out Hitmonlee and another Onix. Gary noticed what his mistake of using Surf so he used Full Restore on Ashley’s Alakazam. Ashley thanked Gary and gave him a little kiss on his cheek. Then Ashley used Psychic on Hitmonlee and it was out for the count. Then Bruno used Double-edge on Alakazam and it was knocked out.

Bruno then got out his last Pokemon Machamp. Then Ashley and Gary whispered to each other what to do next. Ashley then decided to bring out her Blastoise, and then Gary switches his Poliwrath with his Hypno. Then Bruno tried to use Double-edge at Hypno, but missed completely and Gary let out a sigh of relief while Bruno stomped his feet in anger. Then he used Bulk Up with Machamp. Then after that round Ashley used Surf with Blastoise and knocks out Onix and does a ton of damage on Machamp, Hypno has an excellent defense so surf did very little damage to him. Then Bruno used Cross Chop on Blastoise and it was almost out of HP. But it was a wasted move and Gary used Psychic on Machamp with his Hypno winning this battle.

“I’m amazed both of you guys best my Power, you deserve to move on” said Bruno and the doors behind him opened. First the trainers healed up their Pokemon and then walked through the doors for the next challenge.

The next member looked like a creepy old woman with a cane. Her name is Agatha and she is a master of the Ghost and Poison type Pokemon. She pulled out her Gengar and Golbat. Ashley took out her Alakazam and Gary took out his Gengar. Now this battle would be very tough for either trainer to beat, but both trainers had an idea to feed their Pokemon lots of Protein and Carbos to make sure their Pokemon are Strong and fast.

Gary had the first move with Gengar with Shadow Punch against Agatha’s Gengar and knocked it out. Gary equipped his Gengar with Quick claw to help him get the first move. Ashley used Psychic with her Alakazam on Golbat and knocked it out.

Then after those 2 surprising losses Agatha pulled out her Haunter and Arbok. But the Haunter was defeated very quickly with Gary’s Gengar with Shadow Punch and Ashley defeated Arbok with Psychic with her Alakazam.

Agatha then throws out her last Pokemon Gengar knowing she can not win facing two Pokemon. And she was right and was defeated with a Shadow Punch and a Psychic attack. “I see you two are pretty clever even being so young” said Agatha, “I also thing you two make a cute couple as well” Ashley and Gary blushed with that comment. “Anyways, you two are ready to face the last member of the Elite Four” said Agatha then the doors opened. The two healed their Pokemon and headed to face the last challenger.

The last member is a handsome guy in a cape named Lance, master of the Powerful Dragon Pokemon. Gary was a little jealous how handsome he looked and might try to get Ashley’s attention. But Ashley comforted Gary and told him she is faithful only to him. Then Lance brought out this Gyarados and his Dragonair. Ashley pulled out her powerful Articuno and Gary brought out his powerful Zapdos. Ashley used Ice Beam on Dragonair with her Articuno and it was defeat. Gary used Thunder Bolt on Gyarados with his Zapdos and it was out in no time.

Lance then brought out another Dragonair and an Aerodactyl. Ashley used Ice Beam with her Articuno and knocked out the other Dragonair. Then Gary used Thunder Bolt on Aerodactyl with his Zapdos and it was down for the count.

Then Lance sweating knowing that he will lose brought out his final Pokemon Dragonite. And with one final attack to become Pokemon Masters Ashley used Ice Beam and knocked out Dragonite. The two trainers are now Pokemon Masters!

“Congrats to both of you guys, you have beaten the challenge and have the right to be in the Hall of fame” said Lance. Then suddenly Professor Oak popped up and greeted his grandson and Ashley.

“I see both of you guys were able to beat the Elite Four, I’m impressed” said Professor Oak.

“Thanks grandpa, I could not have became a Pokemon Champion myself without the help of Ashley along with me” said Gary with an arm around Ashley’s shoulders with her blushing a little of Gary’s comment.

“Anyways, could you two follow me to the back room to registair to be Pokemon Champions?” asked Lance. Then Ashley and Gary followed Lance to a room and put their Pokemon in a machine to be part of the Hall of Fame. After that was done, both were tired and headed back to Pallet Town to rest after the long journey.

A few days later Ashley received an email from Erika that she wants to she her. It did not tell her why buy she has to go there. So she asked Gary to go along with her to visit Erika and Gary agreed. So the two used Fly to return to Celadon City.
