Chapter 13: Comfort and Rare Pokemon Hunting

When Ashley and Gary got into the caverns of Seafoam Islands, they saw many water type Pokemon in there. Ashley thought the Seels are very cute and caught one herself. She felt a little girlish thinking that way, but it did not bother her. She guessed some boys would think the same way.

Gary notice that Ashley is acting more of her formal male self then when they started journeying together and she acted girlish. This reminded Gary of the time when both he and Ash were starting their journey to become Pokemon masters and he would always trash talk against Ash to be better them him. This made him felt so bad that he stumbled to the floor.

Ashley noticed this and went to help Gary up. “Gary? Are you ok?” asked Ashley concerned of him. “No I’m not Ashley” said Gary, “I was thinking that I have hurt you in the past when you were a boy and we were rivals together. And now I don’t know why I am being nice to you and you don’t deserve and you becoming more of yourself and you may not want me anymore” Gary sighed feeling depressed of the past events that may break their relationship since Ashley is becoming more normal.

The blond trainer Ashley does remember the days of being a boy of being a rival to Gary and how much Gary was mean to her in the past. It hurts her a little remembering it, but things are different now. “Gary, I know that you are worried that I will hate you since I am becoming myself, but I will not hate you” said Ashley. “You won’t hate me?” questioned Gary. “No I won’t. Those events are all in the past, they don’t matter anymore, what matters is that we are happy together” said Ashley trying to comfort Gary.

Gary absorbed in what Ashley told him. ‘I Think she is right, I am worrying over nothing’ thought Gary. Then Ashley quickly pulled on her lipstick and put it on her lips. Then she gave a good kiss on Gary’s lips. Gary could taste the strawberry flavor from the lipstick and the kiss felt very warm and comforting to him making him forget about thinking of the past events. “So, do you feel better now?” asked Ashley after letting go of Gary’s lips. “Yes! Much better! Now let’s continue exploring this place!” said Gary happily. “OK!” cheered Ashley and they continue on in the caves.

The two trainers noticed a bunch of boulders in the caves. Gary taught his Hitmonlee Strength and used the power of his Hitmonlee to push around the boulders.  They saw holes as well, Gary commanded his Hitmonlee to push them in the holes and he did under his master’s orders without second thought. The boulders seemed to calm down the rapid waters below them.

After a while of puzzle solving with the boulders they dropped down to the calm waters on Ashley’s Lapras. They went to a land and saw a big light blue bird Pokemon. They challenged the Pokemon. Both Ashley and Gary tried to be careful not to knock it out thinking it must be a rare Pokemon. Ashley used Pikachu’s Thunder Wave to paralyze the Pokemon. Once they weaken the Pokemon enough, they started tossing lots of Ultraballs they bought earlier. It took a while, but they caught the Pokemon Articuno. They after their victory, they used Escape Rope and warped outside the caves.

“Wow! That was a hard Pokemon to catch!” said Ashley. “I agree. I wonder if there is more then just that one rare Pokemon” said Gary. “It is possible. I noticed back around the beginning of Rock Tunnel that there was more river there, I’m curious where it leads” said Ashley. “Me too, let’s fly over there” said Gary. Then the two used their Pokemon and flew to the Pokemon Center near the entrance of Rock Tunnel. They with Lapras, they went southward to wherever the river leads them.

The found a building called the Power Plant. They went inside of there. There was a ton of electric type Pokemon. There was Pikachus in there as well and the male Pikachus seemed to be interested in Ashley’s Pikachu. But she was scared of them swarming around her and climbed on Ashley and hid her face. Ashley and Gary laughed at Pikachu and it looked cute she was scared. “Don’t worry Pikachu, they are only in love with you, they will not hurt you” said Ashley. Pikachu crossed her arms hearing that comment, nobody understands her and she rather find the right Pikachu with a trainer and not have a bunch of wild male Pikachu after her.

Ashley came across some Voltorbs and Electrodes as fake item Pokeballs. Good thing they kept running away from them before they had a chance to explode on their Pokemon. They also find Magnemite which are tricky to weaken them since they are also Steel Type Pokemon, but at least they are not hard to catch. Occasionally they found Electabuzzs and caught one of them.

When they reached around the end of the Power Plant, they found a yellow Bird Pokemon with wings that looked like bolts of electricity. They thought they had to challenge it to capture it, but Pikachu used her electricity to talk to it. The Pokemon Zapdos seemed a lot calmer and aloud the trainers to capture it. Then they used the exit to get out of the Power Plant.

“That was too easy to get Zapdos” said Gary. “I know, thanks to Pikachu’s help. Well let’s back to Cinnabar Island” said Ashley. The two agreed and flew back to the Island. They headed toward a building they had yet to explore, Pokemon Mansion.
